Elif Yemenici
She was born in Eskişehir. She graduated from the Department of Visual Arts at Eskişehir Anadolu Fine Arts High School. Then she double majored at Anadolu University in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Print Making Department and the Faculty of Communication, Cinema and Television Department. After she graduated as valedictorian of the Print Making Department in 2012, she started working in Siyah Martı Animation Studios for approximately two years. There, she worked on several character and background designs for various animation projects. Starting from her years as a university student, she has illustrated more than 80 children’s books so far. At the same time she wrote and/or illustrated more than 300 short stories for various children’s periodicals. Apart from her works in the field of children’s literature, she produced works of visual arts in a variety of other fields such as posters for advertisements and illustrations of album covers and album booklets. She took part in various exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad.
“Kar Masalı” (A Winter Tale), published in 2017 by Yapı Kredi Publications, was the first children’s book that was both written and illustrated by her when she was 21 years old. The second book that she both wrote and illustrated was “Eyvah Kalbim Kırıldı!” (Oops, My Heart is Broken!), published by RedhouseKids Publications in 2015.
“Eyvah Kalbim Kırıldı!” was chosen to take part in the White Ravens 2016 List as one of the world’s most prominent and distinguished children’s books of the year.
It was also translated into Spanish, Catalan (Flamboyant Editorial), Korean (Charlie Book) and Chineese. (Beijing Bright Culture Development) and Macedonian (АНТОЛОГ) .
The sequel book to “Eyvah Kalbim Kırıldı!” is published by RedhouseKidz with the title of “Eyvah Kim Oldum Ben!” (Oops! Who am I Now?) in November 2017 and published by Ludattica in Italy with the title of “E Se Fossi” (2020)
"Yıldız Tamircisi Lorin" (2019) and her latest book “Pina” (2020) are published by RedhouseKidz too.
She continues to work on her fields of interest in her studio in
Istanbul, Turkey.

Eskişehir’de doğdu. Eskişehir Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi Resim Bölümü, ardından Anadolu Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Baskı Sanatları ve İletişim Fakültesi Sinema ve Televizyon bölümlerinde okudu.
Baskı Sanatları Bölümü’nden 1.likle mezun olduktan sonra Siyah Martı Animasyon Stüdyosunda yaklaşık 2 yıl çalıştı. Burada farklı animasyon projeleri için background ve karakter tasarımları yaptı.
Üniversite yıllarından başlayarak bugüne dek 80’den fazla çocuk kitabı resimledi.
Aynı zamanda çocuk dergilerine 300’den fazla çizgi öykü yazıp resimledi.
Reklam afişleri, müzik albümü kapağı ve kartonet tasarımı gibi farklı alanlarda çalışmalar yaptı.
Yurt içi ve yurt dışında sergilere katıldı.
21 yaşındayken yazıp resimlediği ilk çocuk kitabı olan “Kar Masalı” Yapı Kredi Yayınları tarafından 2017’de basıldı.
2. yazıp resimlemiş olduğu kitap “Eyvah Kalbim Kırıldı!” RedhouseKidz tarafından 2015’te basıldı.
“Eyvah Kalbim Kırıldı!” dünyanın en önemli çocuk ve gençlik kitapları seçilerek oluşturulan The White Ravens 2016 listesine seçildi.
İspanyolca ve Katalanca (Flamboyant Editorial),
Kore'ce (Charlie Book) ve Çince (Beijing Bright Culture Development) ve Makedonca (antolog) olarak farklı ülkelerde yayımlandı.
Devam kitabı olan “Eyvah Kim Oldum Ben!” 2017’de RedhouseKidz, İtalyanca olarak da Ludattica tarafından yayımlandı.
Yazıp resimlediği "Yıldız Tamircisi Lorin" (2019) ve
son kitabı “Pina” (2020) yine RedhouseKidz tarafından yayımlandı.
Sanatçı İstanbul’daki atölyesinde çalışmalarına devam etmektedir.
